Learning Fair Project

Business Administration (2BACC)

The associate program in Business Administration offers students a general understanding of a variety of business-related issues. This program has an emphasis on cooperative learning, teamwork, and the use of technology. This degree can lead directly to employment opportunities in the business community or may be applied to a baccalaureate degree in business.

Electrical Engineering Technology (2EET)

The principal objective of the Electrical Engineering Technology program is to provide practical knowledge of electronic, digital, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and microprocessor theory, as well as electrical machinery and its applications. Technical electives include computer networks. This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission (TAC) of ABET Inc.*

Human Development and Family Studies (2FSCC)

This program integrates practical and academic experiences to help students develop entry-level professional competence in one of several human service fields. Degree options include: Adult Development and Aging Services; Children, Youth, and Family Services; and Early Childhood Care and Education.

Information Sciences and Technology (2IST)

This IST degree is structured to prepare graduates for immediate and continuing employment opportunities in the broad disciplines of information science and technology, including positions such as application programmers, associate system designers, network managers, web designers and administrators, or information systems support specialists.  

Letters, Arts, and Sciences (2LACC)

This program is designed to broaden a person’s understanding, interests, and skills. With the assistance of an adviser, students have the opportunity to design their own program, within certain prescribed boundaries, that link courses from different disciplines. It provides an introduction to college-level instruction in preparation for baccalaureate degree program admission, if desired.

Mining Technology (2MNGT)

The mining technology program is designed to prepare front-line foremen and supervisors in the mining industry. The curriculum emphasizes structures, supervisory skills,  mine safety, and use of technology in mining. Two options are available: Maintenance or Production. The Mining Technology program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission (TAC) of ABET Inc.*

Nursing (2NURS)

The associate degree in nursing provides preparation for the Registered Nurse licensure examination, and prepares graduates to find employment in a variety of acute and long-term care settings.  November 30 each year is the
application deadline for the following fall. The program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Physical Therapist Assistant (2PTA)

The PTA Program at Penn State Fayette helps prepare individuals to become skilled technical health workers who assist the physical therapist in patient treatment. Students develop knowledge and skills in the appropriate use of equipment and exercise associated with various physical therapy treatment modalities. Specialized instruction includes anatomy and physiology, kinesiology (the study of human muscular movements), and therapeutic, postsurgical, and rehabilitative procedures.
